About CWGIS- Caribbean Women and Girls in STEM
Mentorship Program
Provides a network for female students and professionals of Caribbean heritage and nationality to have access to mentorship from women with careers in STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Accounting and Mathematics) industries.
CWGIS recognizes that education is the key to preparing students for the job market of the future. With a large network of Black Caribbean Women across the globe, CWGIS Mentorship Program is the anchor that creates opportunities for black Caribbean adolescent girls to understand the importance of representation and encourages more girls to obtain academic credentials in STEAM.
CWGIS networking platform fosters a community for black female Caribbean
professionals to continue to increase their capacity to adapt to ongoing
transformations and technology, while maintaining high-quality employment in STEAM related industries.

Mentor Profile
Mentors are black females, are nationals from the Caribbean or live and work in major global metropolitan cities with a large community of Caribbean diaspora.
These Caribbean women are at various stages of their professional careers, have completed a bachelor’s degree or earned higher academic accreditations and work in fields that are within Science Technology Engineering Accounting and Mathematic industries.
Our 360-mentorship program’s primary goal is to provide access and create a pipeline for female students that live in the Caribbean and attend High Schools in the Caribbean.
CWGIS- Caribbean Women and Girls in STEM mentorship program provides a unique opportunity for black female Caribbean High School and college students to have exposure to professional women working in Science Technology Engineering Accounting and Mathematics.
CWGIS Mentors support Caribbean female students enrolled in Caribbean High Schools, or they are attending Universities around the world.
CWGIS programs are aligned to the academic calendar year of Caribbean High Schools and Universities. We provide our mentors the flexibility to participate in our mentorship programs based on their availability. We offer opportunities to mentor in-person, virtually, and on-demand. We offer a mix of one-on-one mentorship, group mentorship, and mentorship for all through community events.

Become a Mentee
About CWGIS- Caribbean Women and Girls in STEM Mentee Program
We want to build a pipeline for future Caribbean female students and provide them with access to our CWGIS membership network. Our members are the mentors for CWGIS Mentee Program. CWGIS members are Caribbean women who are leaders in various industries in Science, Technology, Engineering, Accounting and Mathematics.
Our Mentees are enrolled students attending Caribbean High Schools, are members of Caribbean Student Associations at Universities outside of the Caribbean around the world. Most importantly, CWGIS mentees are curious, industrious and are interested in pursuing academics in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

Mentee Profile
To increase equity and help women from regions that are lagging behind in providing opportunities for careers for women in STEAM CWGIS- Caribbean Women and Girls in Science, Technology, Engineering, Accounting, and Mathematics provide girls at different stages in their development access to mentorship.
Our mentees are Black Caribbean female students who attend High School in the Caribbean. These female High School students are between the ages of 11-17 years old, or female students who are (third- year students), and or rising seniors that are pursuing academic Science Technology Engineering Accounting and Mathematics degree programs at accredited Universities.
Our mentorship programs are facilitated in-person, virtually and on-demand. CWGIS Mentees work alongside our Mentors in dynamic one-on-one, or group mentorship throughout the academic school year. CWGIS mentees can be as young as 11 years old. All of our Mentees are Caribbean, females with a keen interest in embarking on a journey to Start Exploring, Build Skills, Take Action, or Cultivate Community.

Explore Career Pathways
- Our High School students and young adults explore different companies and workplaces to gain more insight, knowledge and understanding of the career opportunities across the industries related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Accounting and Mathematics.
CWGIS High School Mentorship Program
- Only 35% of students enrolled in STEAM are women. Girls also appear to lose Interest in STEAM subjects with age more than boys do, CWGIS understands the need to focus on exposing young girls to academic and career opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Accounting and Mathematics.
- Facilitated by an educator, CWGIS Mentees have the chance to explore careers, strengthen their social-emotional skills, and connect to CWGS mentors.
- Our Mentorship Program is conducted alongside the academic curriculum and the sessions are hosted virtually, in-person or at during CWGIS special events.
